8 Minutes for You
Because Caring Doesn’t Take Time. Our ‘8 Minutes for You’ initiative encourages everyone to take just eight minutes to truly listen, connect, and show support — small moments that can make a big difference in someone’s day – maybe in their lifes.
With our platform, we want to make it easy for you to reach out, build meaningful connections, and have a positive impact on each other’s lives.
What is the 8 Minutes for You initiative?
Our ‘8 Minutes for You’ initiative invites everyone — especially but not only those in the LGBTQIA+ community — to dedicate just eight minutes of their time to connect with someone in a meaningful way. Research has shown that even brief, genuine social interactions can reduce stress, boost well-being, and help people feel seen and valued. Whether it’s listening without distractions, checking in on a friend, or simply sharing a moment of kindness, these small acts create a ripple effect of support and belonging. For many in the LGBTQIA+ community, who often face loneliness or isolation, these moments of true connection are especially meaningful. But no matter who you are, by taking just eight minutes, we can all help strengthen our sense of community and remind each other that no one has to feel alone.
Disclaimer: Our platform is not a substitute for professional mental health or medical support. If you are experiencing acute psychological distress or a mental health crisis, we strongly encourage you to seek help from qualified professionals or local emergency services.
Be part of the Movement
Join our ‘8 Minutes for You’ program — sign up as a Buddy if you want to offer your time and get in touch with others, or as a Peer if you’re looking for someone to talk to and share a moment with. Together, we create a stronger, more caring community.
How it works
Our ‘8 Minutes for You’ program is designed to help you connect easily and authentically. You can join as a Buddy (someone offering time and support), as a Peer (someone looking to connect and share), or as both.
When creating your profile, you decide what information you want to share — for example, your preferred language, how you’d like to be contacted, or whether you’d like to include your WhatsApp number for direct connection. In the public listing, only Buddies are shown, so Peers can choose whom they’d like to reach out to.
Whether you have eight minutes to give or need someone to listen, this program empowers you to build genuine, supportive connections — safely and on your own terms.
